With more than 50 different brands, the bottled-water market (purified water) in Haiphong is considered not to be smaller than in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. However, the quality of bottled water in Haiphong is beyond control.
In order to strengthen the management over bottled-water production, Haiphong Health Service recently conducted a campaign for bottled-water quality inspection. Strict measures were applied to suspend bottle-water manufacturers whose products failed to meet hygiene and safety standards. Certificates of product standards are only issued to manufacturers who passed the quality inspection under the supervision of Haiphong Health Service and other competent agencies.
The first bottle-water manufacturer inspected by Haiphong Health Service was NEVA Water Co., Ltd. (a PG Group Company). Passing this strict inspection, NEVA purified water has officially become one of the best quality products in Haiphong.
NEVA purified water has also been certified as conformable to Vietnamese Standard TCVN 6096:2004 under the Decision number 23/2004/QD-BKHCN on bottled water dated August 25, 2004 by Ministry of Science and Technology and conformable to hygiene standards under the Decision number 1329/BYT/QD on chemical and bacteriological purity of drinking water dated April 13, 2002 by National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health.
NEVA purified water products with 330ml, 500ml, 1.5-liter and 5-gallon bottles are very convenient for offices, workshops, hospitals, schools, hotels, restaurants, household, etc. The price of a 5-gallon bottles vary from VND 18.000 - VND 32.000.
